About Nico

Nico Sleator is a pianist, composer, producer, music director, DJ, and teacher based in New York City. Fluent in many styles of music, he has become a sought after producer and composer for singers, rappers, podcasts, and films. He has performed at venues such as Lincoln Center in New York, La Place Vendome in Paris, La Capital Theatre in Quebec and Vans Warped tour.

He is the recipient of a grant from the Creative Entrepreneur Grant from Pittsburgh Partners in the Arts, and podcasts he has worked on have received accolades such as Best Sound and Musical Score at the Atlanta Fringe festival, Best Podcast for the 2022 Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival, and best Directing for Fiction Podcast by the New Zealand Web Fest. He is a composer for Viral music, a company that specializes in creating music for advertisements and films.

In 2019, Nico toured across the United States and Canada opening for Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson with Palaye Royale. Since then he has become the Musical Director for the Ultimate Queen Celebration. Recently he started a solo electronic project, pulling from his expertise in electronic, jazz and classical music.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Nico has been studying classical piano since the age of 7, and has been named a Steinway young artist at the age of 13. He then began to study jazz and taught himself music production, inspired by artists like Bill Evans and Skrillex. He graduated from The New School for Jazz with a BFA for Jazz Piano Performance, and works as a freelance artist in New York City.
